Meet the Brewers
Head Brewer – Andrew Castner
Our MashCraft Brewing Company Head Brewer, Andrew Castner, originally started brewing in 2006 at Oaken Barrel Brewing Company (also in Greenwood) where he learned the craft and developed his skills while moving up the ranks. In 2010, he accepted the Head Brewer position at the RAM Restaurant and Brewery where he achieved critical acclaim in local and national competitions including two Great American Beer Festival medals in 2012 and 2013, 13 Indiana Brewer’s Cup medals, 3 Brew Bracket championships, and a Silver in the 2013 North American Beer Awards for Buckfast Commando Scottish Ale.
Andrew strives to serve beer with heightened yet balanced flavor using the finest ingredients. Whether you are looking for big hop flavor, malt abound, or a crisp, clean pilsner-like finish, MashCraft will provide a consistently great variety of styles, so you can always find a beer you will enjoy.
Assistant Brewer – Dustin
A native southsider, Dustin attended Southport High School, where he met lifelong friends, David O’Hare and Clay Davis, who introduced him to some pretty awesome folks doing awesome things in the brewing world. He started developing a liking for craft beer, and it soon became a passion. He started brewing at home with fellow friends and craft lovers Clay and Bobby Klene. He began volunteering for MashCraft as soon as the doors opened, and he faithfully poured pints and washed glasses until the perfect opportunity opened for him to start his journey in craft brewing. Now, as Assistant Brewer, Dustin finds creativity and inspiration through his young son Sammy’s playful spirit, and his wife Heather’s unwavering dedication. He enjoys crafting weekly small-batch creations, and he looks forward to continuing the legacy MashCraft is building.
